Leopold Zunz

Leopold Zunz (Hebrew: יום טוב ליפמן צונץ— "Yom Tov Lipmann Tzuntz") was the founder of what has been termed the "Science of Judaism" (Wissenschaft des Judentums), the critical investigation of Jewish literature, hymnology and ritual.
